In Memoriam Christian Holm

My brother, Christian Holm, passed away on July 22nd 2015 at night. He died not like he lived his life or I should say not the way he was treated. He died peacefully. He was never one to fight back. You see, he was abused verbally and physically by his father. I really don't know how he dealt with it. The outcome was that he determined not to treat anyone like that. He was kind and gentle. He would also listen. He would listen to anyone who had trouble.

If you looked at him, you would not conclude that success was a thing he had mastered. He even had doubts and regrets about his lack of 'success' as we like to commonly define it. Success, I think, can be measured in many ways. He was never without friends. He was very successful at making and keeping friends. I believe it's because he provided them with and openness they rarely see.

Yes, my brother was a strong person, but you'd never know it. He was a student of philosophies and religions. In the end he found his faith, a personal victory by any measure.

He was the author of a blog called Homelessness for Stupid People. In it he told of the things he saw and experienced while homeless. Earlier in life he served in the Coast Guard. I always remember the incident he had to cover about a ship that ran aground into the back yard of a lady in Florida, spectacular. He also worked in the 3D imagery field for a while. The job he enjoyed most was being a Farrier. He loved working with horses. He loved their company, and he loved horse people.

You could always count on him to tell a good story.

This is my good bye to him and farewell. I wish him a bon voyage on his travels.

Meeting Pluto

Hi Pluto.
Why, we never knew you. We thought of you a lonely small planet until we saw your companion Charon.
Now we pay a visit, a passing by to say hello and goodbye. No time for selfies. So, we take pics of your family, Nix, Hydra, Kerberos, and Styx. My, how many they are. How rich, how far.
We thought you inactive.Yet we find you busy and alive. You're beauty and creations amazes us.
You are the wayfarer between the outer solar system and the Kuiper Belt, a place that's a mystery. You are a wondrous mystery. You are the ambassador of the of the unknown and the hidden.
We use to call you a planet. Now we call you dwarf. Some are upset at this, but you are changing that meaning. You are much more than we expected. You are a piece of art. After all, we discovered your heart.
Someday we would love to stay and get to know you, take you out to dance a spin or more. For now, we say farewell. Keep us near your heart. We certainly will keep you near ours.

2015 - Year of Activity

Come with me
Come with me
To the world of your dreams
Where nothing is as it seems.

Where trees talk
And houses balk
And nothing is as it seems.

Whence comes the love
I feel none of it.
Whence comes the hope
I see it not.

Pain is the bitter friend
It will not leave till the end
There is talk but no hope to mend.

But come let us dream
Come let us dream
So nothing is as it seems.

This year is a year of activity.  I say that because this is the last year that I have seen when I looked into the future in 2011.  It will be a wild year.

So with it I give this advice.  Hold to your loved ones close.  Hope and love may seem scarce this year, but it's always there to be found.  Protect what you have.  On the other hand it may prove to be a year of opportunity.  I wouldn't jump into anything too hasty.  Do your homework.

Well, it has been an interesting adventure looking into the years before they happen and then living through them.  There have been some surprises along the way.  I guess 2014 caught me by surprise but shouldn't have.  Violence erupted, and it gave way to more crime.  I have no doubt that yet more violence will come in 2015.

Take care, readers.
